An Auburn man was killed and two other men were flown to a Roseville hospital after a crash on Highway 49 and Combie Road at about 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

Alford Presser, 90, was driving a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis northbound on Highway 49, with witnesses describing his vehicle as being “all over the road,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Matt Whiting.

“He was driving extremely erratically,” Whiting said.

As Presser approached the traffic light at Combie Road, at which there was a lot of traffic, he reportedly began passing the stopped vehicles, swerving to the left and into the southbound lanes.
