A head-on collision near Calistoga around 2 p.m. Saturday sent two drivers to the emergency room with moderate injuries. Angelito Peries, 65, of Calistoga was driving a black Mercedes east on Highway 128 near Strebel Road and crossed over the center yellow line and crashed into a pickup driven by Deana Park, 50, of Hidden Valley Lake. Mason, who was wearing a helmet, hit his head on the road in the westbound lane. Mason said his injuries were minor. The two people injured in the head-on collision were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, and Mason was taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Rosa. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in either crash.
