Car Crashes Into Alameda River, Elderly Woman Missing — Jan 28, 2017

An accident just a quarter mile east of the Palomares Road at around 11:30 a.m. ended with a car in the rushing Alameda River. A silver 2000 Honda Accord crossed over the middle of Niles Canyon Road and hit a white Honda Accord. It then tumbled into the creek. The 18-year-old female driver was lost from the car and authorities were unable to find her. Unsafe water conditions have kept rescue teams from entering the water to search for her although drones were deployed Sunday.
