CROCKETT -- A motorcyclist died from a two-vehicle crash late Thursday night along Interstate 80 and another man suffered minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Anthony Washington, 52, of Vallejo, died after the wreck that took place about 11:30 p.m. on Interstate 80 just east of Cummings Skyway, the CHP reported.

An investigation revealed Washington was traveling east on the highway on his 1999 Suzuki motorcycle when he ran into the rear of a 2007 Mazda and was ejected from the bike.

The driver of the Mazda reportedly lost control of his vehicle and it flipped then landed on a nearby shoulder. He suffered minor injuries but was expected to recover, authorities said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, according to the CHP.
