Fatal Benicia Accident Closes Freeway — August 8, 2017

A large portion of the Interstate 680 in Benicia was closed this morning after a deadly accident involving multiple cars. California Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. A big-rig was one of the vehicles involved. One person was reported dead by 7 a.m. The I-680 connector ramp northbound to I 780 westbound is still closed with no indication of a reopening time.
