Fatal Crash Kills Oroville Pedestrian, September 9, 2016

Patricia Forkner, 39-years-old, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by an SUV in Butte County last Wednesday. California Highway Patrol reports she had been walking near the shoulder of Lincoln Boulevard eastward, just south of Ophir Road at approximately 9:30 p.m. when for reasons unknown she wavered into the roadway. A Ford Explorer then struck her in the northbound lane of Lincoln Boulevard. The was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and state to Highway Patrol that she had not seen anyone in the roadway and had not applied her brakes. The accident is still under investigation to determine how and why she went into the road.
