San Jose resident Justin Ochoa, 26-years-old, was driving a 1995 Ford Contour on Highway 152 eastbound near the Romero Visitors Center between midnight and 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. He fell asleep and the car drifted into the oncoming lane. He overcorrected in response and went off the east side of the embankment. He came to rest 200 feet down from the roadway. He went back to sleep, opting to wait for daylight to climb out of the ravine. It wasn’t until after 2 p.m. the following afternoon that he climbed out and called for help from an emergency call box.
