Man Dies on Market Street After Municipal Railway Bus Hits His Bike

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, Mark Heryer, 47, died after his bike was struck by a Muni bus on Market Street in San Francisco County. Market Street at both Battery and Sutter ends was shut down during the aftermath. Mr. Heryer was not riding his bike in a bike or shared lane. He was riding between two busses when he lost his balance, fell off and made contact with the side of one. He slid under one of the bus tires and died from his injuries.
