Napa County Head-on Crash Kills One — Nov 4, 2016

Twenty-nine-year-old Francisco Javier Cruz Matias was killed driving southbound on Vichy Avenue when he approached a 60-year-old woman from Napa who was coming from the opposite direction. Matias was speeding when he crossed the double yellow lines and hit the woman head-on. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was pinned in the car. Emergency crews had to extricate him from the vehicle but he died on the scene. The older woman suffered minor injuries.
