Northern California: Runaway Bull Causes Six-Car Pile-up — Mar 28, 2017

Park Rangers believe so much recent rain led to erosion under a fence which allowed a bull to escape onto a northern California Highway. Several cars were badly damaged and the bull was killed during the bull’s appearance on the roadway. Police started receiving calls about a bull walking along the fast lane in East Bay Monday night around 8 p.m. The bull was walking along Highway 4 eastbound. It was in the area east of McEwen Road in Contra Costa County. Eventually, the bull ran out into the road and was struck by a car and caused several more cars to pile-up in a chain reaction accident scene. Three people had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital. It is unclear from where the bull originated. The bull’s worth was estimated at about $9000.
