OAKLEY (KRON) — One person was airlifted to the hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Oakley Friday morning.

At about 3:40 p.m., fire crews were called to a solo vehicle crash in the area of Sellers Avenue and East Cypress Road.

Firefighters with the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said that one person was trapped in the car and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.

The crash victim was airlifted to a local hospital.

Fire Chief Hugh Henderson said he did not have information about the extent of the person’s injuries or the person’s condition Friday morning.

Oakley police are investigating the cause of the crash.
