PITTSBURG -- A man suspected in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Bay Point woman over the weekend was arrested early Wednesday, and his brother was arrested for attempting to hide the truck involved in the crash, police said.

Jorge Perez, 29, is being held on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death for the crash Sunday that killed 50-year-old Michelle Braz. Braz was walking on Willow Pass Road near Mountain View Avenue with a shopping cart when a Chevy Silverado veered off the roadway, ran into a light pole and then hit her just before 7 p.m.

The arrest came after police released surveillance video on Tuesday night. Police did not say where the video came from, but it showed a truck veering off the roadway, running into a light pole and then hitting Braz. Police blurred the video where Braz was walking on a sidewalk.
