Solo Crash Into Crane in Sutter County Kills One — Mar 18, 2017

Approximately 6:00 a.m. on March 17, 2017, a driver in a stolen car crashed into a crane parked in Robbins. The driver was driving down Sacramento Valley Boulevard northbound just north of Maddock Road in a 2007 Toyota Prius. It has been determined he was traveling at around 80 to 90 mph. Investigators believe he stayed straight around a right-angle curve. The collision was so forceful, the car immediately caught fire upon impact and was quickly engulphed in flames. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt. It is still unclear if drugs or alcohol was a part of the crash. The driver has not been identified.
