STOCKTON — A car crash blocked the intersection of March and West lanes in Stockton on Monday afternoon.

Police say Jorge Romero, 42, the driver of a Yukon hit another vehicle near the intersection of March Lane and Claremont. Instead of stopping, he allegedly kept going.

Romero was then involved in another crash on March Lane and Kentfield, at which point he, again, kept driving, according to police.

Police say they then allegedly saw him continue eastbound on March Lane in the westbound lanes. An unmarked patrol vehicle used its sirens to try to pull the driver over, but he did not stop until he was involved in a major accident at the intersection of March and West lanes.

The suspect and three other people were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.

Romero is a documented gang associate, parolee, has a history of using PCP and is known to be violent.

He was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, felony hit-and-run, felony evading the police and various other charges.
