Two Twelve Year Old Boys Hit by DUI Driver at Buchanan and Bay Streets

Two 12 year old boys were crossing the street in the Marina district at approximately 8:30 a.m. on the day of November 4, 2015 when a drunk driver, 30 year old Kristen Andereck, struck them in her white Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. According to district attorney spokesman Maxwell Szabo, she was charged with one count of felony DUI with injury, one count of driving with a blood alcohol concentration of .08, and two counts of child endangerment with allegations of great bodily injury with enhancements. Both boys suffered life threatening injuries but were expected to survive. Andereck stayed on the scene and was arrested. Local media reports say she was a close family friend of late comic genius Robin Williams and his wife.
