Jordan Lewis, 17, also known as Jordan Hillis according to friends, and his passenger Kyle Stacey, 16, were driving southbound on Lone Star Road, just north of Myers Road; when, after Lewis passed another vehicle directly in front of him, the 1997 Ford Explorer drifted off the right side of the road as Lewis attempted to return to the southbound lane.
California Highway Patrol said the SUV went off the asphalt and onto the dirt shoulder. Lewis attempted to turn the car back onto the road, but lost control of the car, which began to roll an unknown number of times.
