A vehicle passenger was killed in an early morning crash on Highway 29 near Yountville on Saturday when an out-of-control pickup sprang partially into the air and landed on the passenger’s side of a compact car, the CHP said.

Information about the person who was killed was withheld, pending notification of family members, authorities said.

The driver of the truck, a Napa woman, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and other charges, according to jail records.

The fatal incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Highway 29 just south of Darms Lane, between Yountville and Napa, authorities said.

The CHP said Natosha Guthridge, 25, lost control of her southbound 2005 Ford F-150, veering across the center divider and across oncoming lanes before hitting a guardrail on the east side of the highway and bouncing back into the road, authorities said.
