Napa County
Napa County is in the northern part of California, just north of San Pablo Bay. The city of Napa is its county seat. It is one of the original counties in the state, created in 1850. It is one of the four counties considered the North Bay counties. Once a producer of many crops, it is now known mostly for its wine production.
The county is comprised of the cities American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, St. Helena and Yountville. There are several notable residents hailing from Napa County. They include Robin Williams, Francis Ford Coppola and winemaker Robert Mondavi. There are multiple state highways in a county this large. State routes 12, 29, 121, 128, and 221. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the many types of leisure and entertainment venues made available. Hiking, biking and a variety of trails are popular activities. The Napa Valley Vine Trail connects the entire Napa Valley. It is a grassroots endeavor very popular with locals.
